Training

All prospective Foster Parents are required to attend NTDC Foster Parent Training. Training consists of 10 sessions of trauma based training facilitated by two or more Rockland County Children Services staff. Prospective foster parents, will learn about the use of specific tools to assist in supporting children and teens to feel fully connected, build upon strengths and assist in self-regulation. Foster parents will be explore the effect of trauma on the children placed in their care. The skills learned in these trainings are designed to assist all parents in techniques to support the healthy growth of children.
